Jason, I have a couple of resources for you if you are trying to learn more about maintenance management systems.
First, if you logon to the MAPP website, visit the Members Area and click on the Business and Technical Resource Tab, you will find a category called Maintenance Management. There are about 6 individuals who have strong plastics backgounds that have done extensive research into maintenance systems and software that are willing to help you. Just pick up the phone and send them an email.
MAPP also commissioned two maintenance studies several years ago that were completed mostly by injection molders and extruders. Under the Member Section of the website, please go to Benchmarking and then to Plant Management. The first mainteance survey done in '02 has a question realtive to software in use, and although old, will give brand names of what is currently being used.
Last, but not least, MAPP has been researching an on-line maintenance management system called eMaint Enterprises, LLC. eMaint is a leading provider of Computerized Maintenance Management (CMMS) and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) application software designed to meet the maintenance, repair, and operations needs of businesses. Their client base of manufacturers includes a range of small and medium sized organizations to Fortune 500 corporations. You can check out www.emaint.com if you like.
I hope some of this helps.
