The University of Wisconsin (UW) Board of Regents has recently approved the development of an undergraduate Plastics Engineering program at UW-Stout (a MAPP Member facility).

Located in West Central Wisconsin, UW-Stout is an hour east of Minneapolis and St. Paul Minnesota. Courses and laboratory experiments are currently being developed. Courses began January of 2009.

Graduates of UW-Stout’s Plastics Engineering program will pursue careers in manufacturing, materials science, product design, research and development, mold and/or tool design, failure analysis, process simulation, quality sciences, and/or experimental design.

We are in the process of equipping both processing (injection molding, extrusion, thermoforming, etc.) and materials characterization laboratories. Test techniques include, but would not be limited to melt index, moisture analysis, thermal gravimetric analysis, Rheology, tensile, impact, and others.

You can become part of the program development process. If you have current processing and/or test equipment that is suitable for use in our program, please contact me.

Thank you for your time and effort.
