As part of our business plan to become more sustainable, we have implemented a recycling Team that concentrates on pop cans, plastic bottles, plastic bags and stretchwrap, and of course plastic. We are struggling with recycling used cardboard boxes as our local recycling company just closed its doors. Would the MAPP members please provide any sources we could use and the conditions of removal (corrugated must be bundled, dry etc) to keep us from sending this resource to the landfill?

Thanks

Jeff,

Parish Manufacturing uses Republic Waste Services for both trash haul and corrugated recycle.  We pay for the corrugated pick up, but at a lower rate than the trash pick up.  Republic provides a separate can (dumpster) for corrugated.  We break boxes down, but do not have to band or do anything else with them.

The net result is that we save money and recycle.

Jeff, my guy doesn't go that far. Have you tried your county, many Indiana counties have government facilities.

Our trash hauler, Veolia Solid Waste Midwest (formerly Onyx) supplies us with a separate dumpster for paper products recycling.  The cost is nominal, and they pick up every week.

We deal with Suburban Products in Grennfield, In. (317-462-4438, Larry)  We call them for a pick-up whenever we get 12 to 15 skids of corrugated scrap.  There can be no trash in it.  They pick-up at no cost and pay us a little money.

Hi,

Going green is good!  I started working with Weyerhauser Recycling who was bought by Internatial Paper.  They pick up ALL of our cardboard, flattened, and office paper AT NO CHARGE.  We also send our shredding to them at a very low fee.

They have a location in Butler; Butler Bulk Plant 260-868-2151 and if they don't work there are 11 other location in IN.  Check out International Papers website for ALL location all over the US.
