MAPP Members who often visit the "forum" area of the MAPP website may see that the last issued posted was August 19th.
Although this is not the case, MAPP's site recently encountered issues where data was deleted from the system. After examination of our backup system, we found that the regular backups assumed to be occuring where not. As a consequence, we lost 10 days worth of postings.
Although, this has been a very frustrating issue for our staff, we are relieved that the system is now up and running with less than 1% of the postings now missing.
Based on this expeience, we would recommend to each MAPP Member that your MIS systems be tested for backup accuracy. If you think your system is working like it should, it never hurts to put the MIS professionals to the test to ensure backup data is not only up-to-date but as readily accessible as your system allows.
