Fuel Surcharges have been suspended by most vendors; however, some plastics processors are still being billed from $25 to $100 and more for incoming shipments of raw materials.
Just watned to open the discussion on this area to see what MAPP Members were doing with the fuel surchage issue?

All of our material vendors suspended the fuel surcharges several months ago except for one. When I called and questioned them regarding this they told me that it was showing on our invoice in error and it would be removed. We deducted it from the invoice. Next shipment received, same problem. Called and was told the same thing. Deducted it again. Next invoice same thing. Just deducted it.

We contacted suppliers about a month after diesel fuel pricing dropped back down into a more reasonable range. All of our suppliers except one eliminated fuel surcharges in 2Q2009. Supplier will not remove $25 net charge per shipment. When questioned, was told it was company policy without exception and nothing could be done about it.

PolyOne is levying a fuel surcharge, but our other distributor is not.
