To answer your question, it is important to understand which type of creep you are trying to estimate. Creep data can be run in compression, tension or flexure. Generally all will calculate deformation versus time. Recently, an accelerated method which uses time-temperature superposition has accelerated estimation of creep versus the tradational loading techniques. Lastly, another factor called creep rupture is important, and that is after a certain amount of strain, samples fail catastrophically.
