Over the last several months, I have handled all of my quoting for new projects differently. In the past, we used-up a great deal of resources going the traditional route in trying to find a responsive broker or resin distributor to give us quotes on plastics materials. This quoting process would tie up our purchasing professionals for hours at a time.
To improve the efficiency of our human capital, I decided to partner with Resin Technology Inc. After years of asking, RTi responded to MAPP's requests to provide a program for the smaller plastics manufacturers so they devised a flat rate program. With this program, I have off loaded all of my plastics resin / raw material quoting onto them.
RTi knows the resin market place better than anybody I know. They also have access to tons of resources and are extremely responsive to my needs. Because of their level of expertise, we really trust the information they provide to us.
I know of other MAPP members who are using the same strategy with the same level of satisfaction. Not meant to be an RTi commercial, but so far so good for us.
