Josh Jaworski, Quality Manager
Alma Mater: Purdue University
How did you become involved in the plastics industry?
After graduating college I was interested in metal casting, but when I moved back home I found there wasn't many opportunities for jobs at the time. I had read that plastics was a lot like metal casting so I interviewed for my current job and found out that plastics are fascinating!
What is your favorite part about your current role?
Being in Quality, you really are in touch with every piece of the business from selecting suppliers to making sure parts are being delivered to customers in time and everything in between. This makes every day a new challenge to overcome
What has been your proudest moment at your current organization?
My proudest moment would be, how my bosses liked how I was running one facility location so much, that they gave me another one of our facilities to be Quality Manager over as well!
At work, what are you most known for among your colleagues?
Obnoxiously loud sneezes that are out of my control, and sarcastic comments.
How do you define success?
Success to me is setting challenging goals, achieving those goals, and defining new goals on an improving, continual basis.
What book are you currently reading?
Super Freakonomics by Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner
What other groups or organizations are you active in?
Untied States Bowling Congress.
What is one thing about you that others would be surprised to learn?
I have been bowling competitively since I could walk basically and have bowled a few perfect 300 games. I bowled my first 300 when I was 17.
If you weren't in the plastics industry, what would you be doing?
Probably something to do with designing cars
What is your favorite thing or story about the MAPP organization?
Being on the MAPP Young Professional's Board of Directors has allowed me to help grow and provide resources for my peers who will be the future of the Plastics industry
How have you received value from the MAPP organization? What are the greatest benefits you currently receive?
The most value I receive from MAPP are the round table discussions and takeaways from the MAPP events. There are always opportunities to improve and grow your organization, and MAPP does a great job of capturing that.
