SUMMARY
Directs and coordinates purchasing and distributing of raw materials and control of inventory levels by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Develops and implements purchasing, and inventory control procedures and systems to minimize inventories while maintaining sufficient inventory levels to meet customer demand. This includes an outlet for scrap and aging materials.

Identifies, develops, and monitors vendors according to Customer and Company needs. At times may perform audits at a vendor’s location.

Maintain material regulatory files based on customer needs, including response to customers’ requests for timely completion of regulatory due diligence documents. Such files include, but are not limited to: SDS, Raw Material Certifications, FDA, RoHS, Prop65, and Conflict Minerals

Is conscious of raw material market and delivery conditions and leverages this information to determine future material needs.

Performs cost reduction activities where customer specifications permit alternate materials.

Initiates, oversees and reviews RFQ, RFP, and RFI processes with suppliers.

Awards contracts and issues purchase orders in accordance with company guidelines.

Uses an ERP system to: manage material demand and communicate supply issues with the appropriate parties, covert data to reports, monitor inventory levels and transactions.

Processes sales orders for any customers directly purchasing raw materials.

Aides with logistical needs as required

Aides Accounting with Vendor invoice discrepancies

IQMS and/or plastics experience preferred


COMPETENCIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
College graduate in business or engineering. A minimum of five years purchasing and/or inventory control experience in a supervisory capacity in a manufacturing environment.

LANGUAGE and MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
