Attendees at the 2018 Benchmarking and Best Practices Conference recently learned that the staff is working to define the First Resource Manufacturing Healthcare Purchasing Coalition. (First Resource is the management organization of MAPP, ARPM and AMBA.)
The goal of the coalition is to reduce long-term healthcare costs by providing members with unique solutions to improve their benefit offerings. It is intended that these solutions will ultimately help insulate members from the rapidly-changing market conditions that continually plague benefit renewals.
From cost aggregation to high-performing organizations that manage risk and consistently deliver better health outcomes and/or lower cost than conventional approaches, members will have access to new solutions for old problems.
The process to create a coalition is not easy. The complexity to designing the agreement involves examining many rules and regulations, across all 50 states. Also, it requires considerable research and development to establish relationships with the best high-performing organizations and to coordinate those efforts.
Finally, entering the First Resource Manufacturing Healthcare Purchasing Coalition will require member executives to buy-in to the future versus looking for quick fixes to reduce annual renewal rates.
While the staff is working to finalize the details, if you are interested in learning more, please complete this form by providing your company contact information, type of current plan (fully insured, self-insured, etc.) and the number of eligible employees. You will receive follow-up information as this initiative continues to develop.
The First Resource Manufacturing Healthcare Purchasing Coalition will NOT be available until after January 1, 2019. For anyone approaching a renewal, we recommend you move forward with that process accordingly. We will consider plan transitions after 1/1/19.
