We are seeking a Lead Plastics Processing Engineer. This role is responsible for applying a working knowledge of high and low pressure injection molding, plastic materials, engineering theory, problem solving techniques and Lean methodologies to improve molding efficiency and equipment performance.

A Plastics Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) with proven experience in injection molding, manufacturing methods, theory, problem solving techniques and Lean methodology. You have a solid understanding of the “science” behind process parameters and are an inspirational leader who will challenge status quo. Along with the the ability to teach, mentor and lead others. You will work cross functionally with Production, Maintenance, Quality and Engineering to improve safety and product quality while optimizing costs.
We Need You To:
Be a change agent in helping expand our core competencies associated with high and low pressure injection molding;
Develop and apply statistical methods to optimize processing parameters, establish standards and validate process capability;
Analyze process performance data and identify trends and countermeasures to reduce process variation;
Apply continuous improvement methods including; lean manufacturing, six sigma and A-3 problem solving techniques to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability and cost effectiveness;
Develop, and implement control systems to improve and sustain production efficiency and product quality;
Promote decisions driven by data instead of opinion.
What You Bring:
7-10 years of experience in a plastics manufacturing environment;
Bachelor of Science Degree in Polymer Science or Plastics Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent technical education;
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with opposing opinions and capable of leading team towards best outcome;
Thorough knowledge of problem solving techniques, brainstorming, kaizen events, value stream mapping, focusing on win-win solutions;
Well organized self-starter skilled in time management;
Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical and hydraulic schematics;
Experience working with programmable logic controller (PLC), control logic and human machine interface (HMI) is beneficial;
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and computer aided design (CAD).
